I thought I could
hear rain drops,
Falling on that old Willow tree.
But it’s getting dark outside,
So I really could not see.
I heard the roar of thunder,
And saw a streak of light.
Somewhere close to home,
It’s going to rain tonight.
Everything is drying up,
The gardens and the grass,
But fall rains soon will come,
And all the drought will pass.
We must learn to have patience,
When it’s not just what we want,
For some things we might wish for,
Are things we really don’t.
We will get the things, we need,
For we have someone who cares,
For God is rich in blessings,
And with us He always shares.
