Take the time to look around,
At the wonders to behold,
Of all the beauty of God’s creation,
And the sights which are untold.
From my window I see our oak tree,
And birds of every kind up high,
A squirrel busy burying nuts and corn,
To store when winter is nigh.
They’re busy little animals,
Can be pesky though at times,
But such a cute and delightful thing,
As up the trees they climb.
He doesn’t have too many friends,
When it comes to birds you know,
The blue jays and mocking birds,
Are ready for him to go.
The birds will dive for him to scare him off,
But he is really unconcerned.
His mind is on the work that he has done,
And all the food he has earned.
But he is God’s little creature,
So if he digs a bulb or two,
Don’t worry or fret a bit,
For he brings such joy to you.
