I'm writin' my daddy a
letter
To tell him, I miss him so much
I'm happy my daddy writes to me
That's the way we stay in touch
He says it's so hot in Iraq
But he's okay with it
His back is full of pain
From sleepin' in a dirt pit
I hear people complain n'
About the problems they endure
But they are so lucky
To live in America, safe and secure
My daddy is shot at
He is around so many bombs
But he would give his life to
Protect us with no qualms
Mama says, daddy is so brave
And I know he is too
I keep daddy's picture close by
So I can see him all day through
So people, quit your complain n'
When you got it so good
I wish you'd trade places with daddy
I'd bring him home if I could
Who do you think provides your freedom
That allows you such a good place to live
It's soldiers like my daddy
Sometimes your words are so abusive
I want to be just like my daddy
And fight to keep America free
We don't really believe in war
But we need a safe place for kids like me.
