My thoughts wing their way
To you this day
From a distance that separates
But never keeps us apart
For we are joined heart to heart.
Though we may travel far and wide
Distance can never hide
The longing we hold inside
For the place where love abides.
Through the years we stay close
To those we love the most.
Though distance may separate
We keep in touch
Our hopes and dreams to relate.
Young and in our prime
And feeling good all the time
We are open to what life has to offer
For it seems life will go on forever.
As time goes by we become reflective.
Distance makes us see from a different perspective
Than when we were young
And life had just begun.
From a distance we build a link
By sharing what we think
Opening our heart to welcome others in
To become a loving friend.
