An angel was sent from heaven above
Gracing our heart with sunshine and love
Leaving smiles of remembrance sweet
Of cherished days with her we spent
Happy and content
Sharing loving sentiment.

With an angel in our midst
We shared many a hug and a kiss
From this special angel child
With golden hair and dazzling smile
Following close by our side.

Her wit and quick mind
Always loving and kind
Overflowed from a gentle heart
With a bond ever so tight
To our joyeous delight.

With a happy smile
And words of love she departed
Without a hint we would soon be broken hearted
For in a matter of minutes we would receive
Shattering news of her death we could not believe.

How could we know
This angel child we loved so
Would suddenly be snatched from our arms
To wing her way to heaven above
Joining the angel chorus around God's throne.
Leaving us with hearts broken.

Praying for God's presence to make us strong
As we continue our journey alone
With questions of why it should be
Our precious angel child was taken home
Gathered for the Master's bouquet.

How can we go on
When the light of our life is gone?
Tell me that one day we will see her again
When we say our final goodbye
To suffer sorrow and pain of separation never more...
An eternal happy reunion on heaven's shore.
