Promises of forever
when hopes 'n dreams were born
holding close in memory
once upon a time
Your warm caress is absent
mere blankets of my soul
I cling to ev'ry fiber
weaved with thoughts of old
A ballet through my conscience
each footstep takes me back
once upon a mem'rie
our love was strong, intact
Silhouettes 'n roses
soft music, candles low
bodies held together
in lovers afterglow
With every fall comes heartache
defeats me yet again
days of yore resurface
plays its sad refrain
Picture perfect memories
line the corners of my mind
I hunger for the romance
when I was yours, you mine
The profound silence lingers
'n haunts me to the core
guess I'll always love you
now, forevermore
The man in moon is frowning
'n stars no longer shine
salty tears form puddles
taste like bitter wine
I walk along the pathway
where we both have been
longing for the past tense
your kisses once again
We clung to midnight magic
when passion sang its song
whispers of sweet nothings
softly shared til dawn
Although the words have silenced
with Autumn's lullaby
I've no regrets for loving you
still hold you close, inside
Basking in my after thoughts
what ifs that may have been
embraced by lonely shadows
still playing lets pretend
Promises made together
now scattered in the breeze
carried away on a whisper, and
the secrets of autumn leaves
