We're in the autumn of our years
Death and divorce left us alone,
We felt like an empty shell
We were unhappy, lonely and undone.

We had settled for what was left
And no one to share even that with,
Days ran together, no purpose was found.
We longed for someone our love to give.

Day by day we continued with life,
We had no plans in store,
We were left with memories
The life we had the years before.

We met one day. Then it all began
We began to laugh and hope again,
Could this be another chance given to us
Soon another life we began to plan.

Time went by we fell in love,
Apart we didn't want to be,
We wanted to share our life,
So much happier we could be.

Now we can grow old together
No more alone we will be.
Today is our wedding day.
So happy, and blessed are we.

Yes we are older in the autumn of our years
A new life we have just begun..
There is no age when it comes to love.
I'm just grateful, his love I have won.
