Halloween is a holiday filled with controversy for me.
All my life it was ghosts, goblins, pumpkins you see.
But then one special joyous year
God filled it with abundant cheer.

Our youngest grandchild was born, early eve.
A truly marvelous gift we did receive.
We were so delighted we nicknamed her pumpkin.
Alyssa was our own little bumpkin.

Everyone else called her peanut, I know not why
To us that name just did not apply.
She is growing so very fast
Hard to realize that 10 years have passed.

She was such a little tiny mite.
But, oh so beautiful and bright.
I'm hoping she will always know
That we do love her so.

When she sees her name on this site.
It will be like having it up in lights.
This is a wonderful marvelous way
To thank God above for her birthday.
