I
look good after my morning coffee,
But you best beware before I
intake,
That hot black scalding liquid,
When I first 'rouse and awake.
My mine is in a turmoil,
It just don't work real fine,
Until I get that cup of coffee,
Into that tummy of mine.
After I have swigged a cup or two,
Or maybe three or four,
It is safe to stick your head,
Around the dining room door.
I look good after my morning
coffee,
But you better be aware,
Before it soothes the savage
beast,
I am not one to give a care.
Yes, I look good after my morning
coffee,
Before its ingestion I am a total
fright,
But once I have my cup in hand,
I am no longer a nightmarish
sight.
Praise be to that pot of coffee,
The scent does send me reeling,
And bless the nerves that it
calms,
For now like a human I am now
feeling.
