~ An Hour With You~

We loved all our roses
Whether pink, white or red
But yellow was our favorite
Of the ones in the bed

We trimmed and we weeded
Gave them tender, loving care
The roses all flourished
And looked stunning there

One day without warning
God took you to Paradise
My life lost all meaning
As the tears filled my eyes

Four years have passed by
But I still feel the pain
The roses were neglected
And the yard looked so plain

I decided to replace them
So I bought different shades
And vowed when they bloomed
They would never again fade

The blooming season started
With a glorious profusion
Even though they were beautiful
I was filled with confusion

The pictures on the packages
Had shown a full array of hues
But since you’re not with me
All my roses are blue
