Life is fleeing fast,
And it will soon be gone.
I'll be leaving my earthly dwelling,
I'll soon be going home.
There will be a big reception,
Of loved ones gone before,
They'll all be waiting for me,
As I reach that golden shore.
Loved ones will be rejoicing,
Angels will be everywhere,
Praising God His Majesty,
When I arrive up there.
I don't need mansions and riches,
Things that burden me with care.
For food, or raiment or gold or silver,
Will not be needed there.
Life's sorrows will all be banished,
As heaven knows no tears.
Life will then be one,
Of joyful, unending years.
So for now I'll say goodbye,
Until we meet again,
On heavens golden portals,
Where our new life will begin.
