I walk along with a sad heart,
Lonely and filled with tears,
Why did you have to go,
Leaving after all these years?

I know we are not promised tomorrow,
Yet we had only begun to live,
Two hearts bound so deeply in love,
What now with no one my love to give?

I think of you in the darkness,
All through the day each breath's a sigh,
God hears my anguished lament,
Even the heavenly angels cry.

Oh why am I left without you,
What is life with you forever gone,
I can't face the sad tomorrow,
There is nothing just me all alone.

Sobs ravish my heartbroken body,
There's no dawn in my tomorrow,
Life is empty and without reason,
Without you there's only sorrow.

I gaze at the stars in the night,
Wishing your presence ever nigh,
Tears cascade as a waterfall,
Death beckons and the angels cry.
