It is time to once again remember all that you
gave.
Some gave their precious blood to keep us free.
Now they lie still and silent in their grave
But their actions spoke in their sacrifice to
keep us free.
Let us never forget those who returned missing a
part.
Their life will never be the same
As they struggle to keep hope in their heart.
Though you will never have fame, I pay tribute
in your name.
Many were called to put their life on the line.
Some paid the ultimate price.
Others returned to their loved ones just fine.
I pay tribute to your sacrifice.
Many still answer the call to serve with pride
Claiming freedom from those who dominate
Hopeless women, children and men
Assuring no price is too high to obligate
Life or limb securing freedom for them.
Veterans Day is a special day set aside
To honor those who served to keep all people
free.
You served with dignity and pride.
I thank you for the part you played to keep me
free.
