~ An Hour With You~
 
This marvel of
creation
On tiny legs , just two,
With eyes and beak and feathers,
Already full of vigor,
Like all these litt'lies do,
You hatched, completely perfect
Did you come out of your shell
And the way that you are eating,
You'll grow up wonderfully well.
Your mum , she's twice as big now
With her feathers spread apart,
To give you warmth and protection
And have you close to her heart
You tiny thing of beauty, a joy to behold
You'll grow into a big bird,
A layer , so I'm told.
I'll feed you and I'll house you
And I'll love you till the end
And gaze to you in wonder
Until your days are spent
