We gather 'round the Christmas tree,
Softly aglow from beautiful lights,
We pause for a special time,
To remember Christ's birth that night.

Candles burning o'er the hearth,
Presents wrapped in papers bright,
Love and smiles from those around,
Giving spirits have reached new heights.

Hands reach out to join together,
Bringing each close to the heart,
A hug or a kiss upon a cheek,
Thankful for family's love they impart.

So many things we have today,
Conveniences surely surround,
The Christ child was born in a stable,
With fodder strewn upon the ground.

Swaddling clothes to wrap the babe,
No designer tags to remove,
His birth brought joy to the world,
A lifetime His love He would prove.

We pray to our Father above,
Thankfulness we eagerly give,
A tiny child born in Bethlehem,
The sins of the world to forgive.

Happy Birthday, precious Jesus,
May our actions bring pleasure to you,
We strive to shine as your beacon,
To be a witness in all that we do.
