My most meaningful thoughts,
Come in the latest hours of the night,
When all my chores are done,
And darkness takes over the light.
When my time belongs to me,
And I can think and dream.
When all is quiet and peaceful,
And the world is mine it seems.
Life can be traumatic,
If we do not take a break.
For after all we are only human,
Some time alone is what it takes.
Memories come at night,
Of pleasant things as I grow old,
The stories told to me by my elders,
Of life so long ago.
I like to write my thoughts,
As soon as they come to me.
Whether it be just at bed time,
Or if it be morning hours two or three.
I can drift right off to sleep,
And rest so peacefully,
For I have ended my day,
The way it was meant to be.
