~An Hour With You~
Little sparrow
please slow down,
What is your hurry?
Flying by my window,
In such an awful scurry.
The sun is out,
And the weather is fine.
Slow up little creature,
Little creature of mine.
You are a gift from God,
To bring us all good cheer.
As I sit and watch you fly,
In the cool soft breezes,
In the wake a brand new year.
A little slow-me-down,
Has come my way,
Forcing me to calmly sit, smell the roses,
And enjoy this glorious day.
I see the lovely jonquils,
Have finally began to show,
The world in all their beauty
Touched by sunlight that makes their petals
glow.
You’re mentioned in God’s Holy Word,
Little Sparrow,
As important as can be.
For as He watches over the sparrows,
He also cares for me.
