Joy came to
the world long, long ago
In Bethlehem we are told.
Unspeakable joy came to us all
When a tiny God Child was born in a manger
stall.
The holy Child was the promised Messiah
Who brought joy to the world that night
Signaled by the holy light
Of a bright shining star over where He lay.
The star guided shepherds to the holy birth
place
To kneel and worship Him for saving grace.
Angels heralded His birth
In the most lowly place on earth.
Wise men came from the East
Bringing precious gifts to Him
For they knew He brought salvation for them.
Bowing down they worshiped there among the
stable beast.
Joy to the world rang out that night
Surrounded by Holy light
And resounded through the years as well
As we ring the Christmas bells.
