Going Fishing
It was such a beautiful morning,
A perfect day for fishing.
We loaded the boat and headed out,
For a fun day we were wishing.
With all the excitement of having fun that day,
We loaded our fishing gear,
And headed out for the lake,
Which wasn’t a good idea.
We backed the trailer onto the ramp,
We unloaded the boat and sped across the lake.
Before we could even catch a fish,
We knew we’d made a mistake.
Water was pouring in almost ankle deep.
We raced to shore to drain the boat,
For a boat full of water,
Well… it just doesn’t float.
We pulled the boat onto the ramp,
And drained the water out.
We placed the plug back in the boat,
And headed on back out.
No sooner had we gotten there,
To fish our favorite place,
The wind began to blow so hard,
To the shore again we raced.
So just because a day starts out perfect,
Doesn’t mean it ends that way,
But just make the best you can of it,
And be glad you lived that day.
