When evening light transcends
To reveal silhouetted shapes of distant
Hopes, and to feel the closeness of God
In the gentleness of a breeze
It is the unfailing love of you Oh Lord
That warms the spirit.

And as each star appears it is to reflect
On past souls who were as flowers
In Your creation and mystery.

Then when to close the eyes in sleep
Your hand Lord shields from the darkness
Of the dream world to protect to
Another day where Your light exceeds
Eternity.
