Weary pilgrims gather together
For a journey seeking renewed hope.
Many years they traveled the slippery slope
Of life filled with ups and downs...
Days filled with smiles and others with frowns.

Life has taken its toll
On these pilgrims weary and old
And yet, seeking to fill their empty vessel,
They traveled to the mountain from whence comes our strength
To lift their eyes and reach forth their empty cup
Saying, "Lord, feel me up."

Running the race of life
Many memories they have made...
Some sweet for which they sang words of praise
While others turned their heart cold.
Their mind turned once again
To their loving God and faithful friend
Praising Him for the trials that refined them like gold.
They determined to travel on
Raising their voices praising Him
For giving them back their song.

Their road of life has taken twists and turns
And nearing their journey's end
They look back and their heart yearns
For another time and place
Filled with joy and love for the smiling face
Of friends and loved ones who have won the race.
Their heart grows faint.
God hears their cry and wiping their tears
Says, "Don't give up, Precious Saint,
The best is yet to come!"
