Lord I stand in sadness,
I need Your loving touch today,
I have to travel life onward,
Void of a mate to guide the way.

I am lost without his presence,
No arms to gently hold me tight,
Silence in the darkness,
Loudly resonates in the night.

I sit all alone at the table,
Watch the rising of the beautiful sun,
I miss the spouse that once joined me,
We prayed when the day had first begun.

Lord I need you so much now,
Only upon you can I depend,
Lonely and ever so downhearted,
Will this heartache of mine ever end?

Give me strength to continue my journey,
Lift my spirits Lord, this I sincerely plead,
I stand and slowly gaze all around me,
Nothing I see brings joy or lessens my need.

I turn it all over to You my dear Lord,
My future is completely in Your hands,
Obedience I give to you sweet Jesus,
You are the preserver of my life's plan.
