That Special Someone

When I was just a boy,
It was a special time.
I had a childhood girlfriend,
Although I was only nine.

She was special to me,
And as the years flew by,
We grew even closer,
She then became my wife.

We fished together and went to church,
We were never far apart,
And I know she must have known,
We’d always be together from the start.

There is something that seems to tell you,
Who’s right for you, you see,
And they are always with you ,
Where ever you may be.

I loved her when I saw her that first day,
The prettiest girl I’d ever seen,
Her eyes just seem to sparkle,
And I loved her even then.

Her hair was red, and deep green eyes,
So Tiny and so sweet,
Like lilacs in a garden,
Where no other flower could compete..

She’s now my darling wife,
And I’ll cherish her till death.
I’ll thank God for her,
When taking my every breath.
