Early in the morning,
I arise to begin my day,
I see a rose upon the table,
In sweet and loving array.
It is as new as
the daybreak,
A wonderful gift from you,
Sparkles and glistens still,
From the early morning dew.
Lovingly picked by your hands,
Before the breaking of the dawn,
Presented from your tender heart,
Deep feelings this rose has drawn.
I reach out to clasp your hand,
Smiling- you kiss my upturned face,
This is the greatest part of the day,
An early morning's, gentle embrace.
I thank the Lord for each day of life,
His glorious blessings begin anew,
When I awaken in the morning,
Greeted by a rose still covered in dew.
God bless this union made in love,
Give us wisdom to overcome trials faced,
When we look to the rising of the sun,
Hold us dear Lord, in Your love interlaced.
