I sit beside the
peaceful waters,
Sweet thoughts o'er take my soul,
I remember the words spoken,
Of a Savior from days of old.
I dream of days filled with peace,
Of calm in the hearts of man,
Yet hear news of wars on going,
And the murders by human hands.
I dream of love by a parent,
For the child given new life,
Yet the abuse I hear so often,
Seems to be forever rife.
I dream of a world loving Jesus,
The One who died for our sins,
Yet I see Him turned away,
For in our lives He does not blend.
I dream of a time of brotherly love,
As daily we walk life's pathway,
Of our seeking God for guidance,
Listening to what He has to say.
I dream of things I will never see,
Upon this earthly sod so green,
But when I reach heaven's shores,
I then will realize my dreams.
