Beautiful Indian Maiden
The beautiful Indian Maiden
Dressed in a lovely turquoise gown
Remembering about her long lost life
With her faithful wolf at her side
Memories of beautiful soaring eagles
Flying high in the morning and evening sky
Diving and soaring over the Sandusky River
Catching fish and small animals as they soar by
Remembering the lush green grasses
Wild flowers all over the ground
Not one single house to be found
Just many teepees all around
Indian children playing Indian games
Always being free to roam the country side
Knowing every man, woman and child
Depends on each and everyone to survive
Water as blue and clear, as the blue, blue sky
Not muddy and dirty, dead fish all around
Remembering what her Great Grandpa said
Protect the earth, protect the land
For God wants the Eagles to soar on high
The birds to sing and fly with great joy
Animals to enjoy the beauty of the clear waters
But most of all his people to protect the land
As she sits there on the ground in sadness
Wondering if anyone realizes the danger
For all the beautiful children in the world
When God gets tired and lifts his hands
