My sunshine is
dressed,
In the shade of soft rose pink.
What will your life become?
When you're all grown I stop and think.
Will you wish upon shooting stars?
As they cross throughout the midnight sky.
Will you have a friend to hold you close?
When your heart is broken and you cry.
Will you walk beneath the moonlight?
Or watch the morning sun as it rises.
Will you understand that there'll be times?
When you will have to make compromises.
Will you find your own prince charming?
And know the feeling of true love.
Will you feel happiness way beyond?
Anything you could have ever dreamed of.
Will you know the love of a mother?
Unconditional and true.
Will you know the joy that comes?
When a newborn baby makes its debut.
Will you keep your sense of humor?
Always laughing, cheerful and perky.
Will you carry on family traditions?
Painting Easter eggs and carving the Christmas
turkey.
If forever you could remain this small,
So happy and glad I would be.
To see you always stay,
Footloose and fancy free.
As you sit here before me,
Giving me your brightest smile.
As your starry blue eyes glisten,
You make my whole life so worthwhile.
Once you're all grown up and gone,
I know how very much that I'll miss you.
So I won't waste one single second,
