In the midst of the danger and chaos and strife
Are the Heroes who fear not the flak
They’ve chosen to risk all that’s dear in this life
To spread freedom all over Iraq

They know they are doing a job that will count
Their mission is perfectly clear
If the terror gets tough and insurgency mounts
The Heroes just put on their gear

They’re trained and they’re ready to give it a go
Their courage will always shine through
Their word is their bond, so let everyone know
They’ll accomplish the things they must do

Whether teacher or trainer or soldier or cop
Or those who make things more secure
In the Chain of Command from the bottom to Top
They’re convinced of the cause and the cure

The cause is for freedom and justice and truth
The cure is when all are on board
In the city or country or market or booth
Peace comes with it’s joy and reward

In the meantime our Heroes stay focused and strong
With their thoughts on the where and the when
For when evil is rampant and rebels are wrong
We Depend On A Few Good Men !!!

of America, and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all.

This poem is dedicated to my son Andrew and other
brave young men and women who have chosen to put
themselves in harm’s way that freedom and liberty
might move from theory to reality in the hearts and lives
of those who are yet to fully experience it.
