The magnificent majestic owl,
Has a mournful call that equals,
The woeful sounds of imploring pleas,
In voices of praying peoples.

Beautiful splendid creature of God,
Thoughtful, solemn in appearance,
Has a vision piercing all darkness,
Like Christ’s light’s our deliverance.


The eyes are immovable and fixed,
With great binocular vision,
Faced forward it turns the head to see,
As it makes a quick decision.

The beautiful owl flies nights silent,
To muffle flapping sounds in flight,
All feathers are saw-toothed at the tips,
Muting all sound all through the night.


And on silent wings the owl flies hushed,
Seeing mostly in black and white,
Hunting at dusk and dawn for all food,
Using its keen sense of eyesight.

Easily it sneaks through the night hunt,
Being nocturnal it weathers,
And maneuvers through environments,
This stealth hunter in rare feathers.

The magnificent majestic owl,
Tawny feathers and tufts for ears,
So affirms my love of God’s nature,
As its haunting song and call nears.
