Each night I close my eyes,
In my dreams it is you I see,
Your body next to mine belongs,
But your presence is far from me.

I awake in the mornings,
You are on my mind,
You occupy every thought,
It is your face I define.

God blessed us in the beginning,
You are mine and I belong to you,
Love grown in sweetness dwells,
Cherished deep in our hearts so true

Duties fulfilled soon I thus pray,
In my dreams I cling to you,
Lord please keep harm at bay.

I see you in my dreams yet again,
You are the lifeblood of my being,
It is you that makes my life whole,
Through your love I am enduring.

Let your love traverse the miles,

I long for the time you return,
My dreams can lay at rest,
When I lay down upon our bed,
