As a Christian I
love to talk the talk,
But it isn't so easy to walk the walk.
I've found myself giving out advice
Then not applying it to MY life.
'Tis hard to do, but easy to say,
Hard to obey so You can have Your way.
To trust would be the thing to do,
So in my life You could ensue.
I say I want You in control,
Yet I turn around and try to cajole.
Try to make a deal with You
As if I knew best what to do.
Lord help me surrender to You
And to Your standard of virtue.
My life would be simpler then
And lost souls would be easier to win.
