Little Foxes...

Oh the vines, the vines that were spoiled that night,
You can never recapture what was lost.
In one moment of passion why did I not hesitate?
And stop to contemplate the cost?
"Bring me one white rose, that’s all that I ask,
One white rose when I die."
He said, as he left, no regrets no remorse,
Just a cold blank stare in his eyes.

He walked away, my tears I wept,
No more secrets to be kept.
No stolen moments, no rendezvous,
Nothing left for me to do.
For me she's finally sung at last,
Ha! No you cannot relive your past.
There's no whatever’s, then agains,
Maybe stills, ifs, buts or when’s.

No, you can never recapture what was lost.
But, memories come as do the tears.
And the regrets, though it’s been years,
Still, I will never recapture what I've lost.

I reminisce of how we met,
The night into my life he crept,
So smooth so still I'll not forget,
Though hard I try.
For little foxes, they move so quick,
So sly so still your soul they'll prick.
Their cut is deep,
They make you moan, they make you weep.

Once vines are spoiled they're ever lost,
It’s too late then to count the cost.
Ask me I know,
No, you can never recapture what you've lost.
In that moment of passion why did I not hesitate?
And stop to think about the loss?
Oh the vines, the vines that were spoiled that night,
"...bring me one white rose,"

our vineyards that are in bloom."
