Jack And The Paint Barrel We had a bird dog named Jack, Raised him from a puppy, Made him a bed in a paint barrel, He thought his bed was yuppie. It came up a bad storm one day, Did not know what to blame, Only after that when it thundered, This poor dog went insane. We had a screened in porch, One day while in the yard, It began thundering and lightning, Old Jack hit the screen door hard. Needless to say, no more screen door, We could not understand why, This poor dog always went wild, From thunder in the sky. One day I had an errand to run, Jack was just behind me, Just as I opened the car door, A big clap of thunder. Before I could get in the car, Jack already beat me in, He got down under the peddles, For duration, he began. We finally figured it all out, Old Jack got lightning struck, While sleeping in the old paint barrel, He sure had some tough luck.
