God’s love lifted me While sitting here all alone In the quiet of the night Feeling sad, lonely and forlorn
Needing just a gentle lift From the drudges of our lives When I felt a gentle breeze Blowing against my cheek
A gentle whisper of love Seemed to radiate out in happiness Like a soft whisper in the night From somewhere way up high
Knowing the love and gentleness Of God’s unconditional love Recognizing the gentle sound Of God’s loving voice
Instant comfort from his gentle words Words of a father’s promised love Then God’s words of love lifted me To the very heights of heaven
