The Power Of The Pen

A little instrument ever so useful,
In numerous fashions and countless ways,
It can pen a novel of historic times,
Or just write a letter to pass the day.

It can tell of funny antics by children,
Pretty poetry the ink creatively composes,
Its capabilities are endless seams,
Describing trees and sweet smelling roses,

Words of true love flows as ink creates passion,
Powerful the pen which our hand doth hold,
Hurtful words too can be easily written,
Think before piercing an unwary soul.

Compose words that make beaming smiles on faces,
Humor is more gentle and kinder you see,
Than darts shooting across the lines on paper,
Be gentle with the power given to thee.
