The Jewel Box

The exquisite interior …….
Served as an invitation,
For me to entrust
My valuables inside;
Diamonds…Emeralds…and rubies,
Jewels…..That I treasure with pride.

The lock…set in the Cedar lid,
Led me to feel sure …..
That if I entrusted my Jewels there,
They would be secure.

The key…that lay beside the box
Promised a type of control;
Yet ….. The Jewel box could be carried away
Thus, that would make me a Fool!
