Ah been frettin' 'bout th' future
And the things thet Ah been told
"Bout what happens to us folkses
When we gits to gittin' old.
So Ah takes ma'self a trip
To th' east side of the state,
Gazed at all thet purty scenery,
'Til it took to gittin' late--
Sakes Alive!!-such wondrous beauty!!
Blazin' trees and bright blue sky---
Now Ah cain't explain ma' feelins'
But it made me wan'na cry.
As Ah pondered them big mountains,
Autumn colors everywhere--
FROM MA' HEART THERE COME UP PEACE,
'CAUSE LORD GOD HAD PUT 'EM THERE.
Now Ah ain't afrettin' longer
Cause thurs one thing Ah now see--
If ma' LORD made all them mountains-
He can sure take care of me
