~An Hour With You~

Only The Beginning


I have gone away but I am still near,
Is that the sound of weeping I hear?
Do not grieve for me my friend,
Death is only the beginning not the end.


When Jesus died on the cross,
His disciples suffered a terrible loss,
He took the key to death, hell, and the grave,
That lost souls like mine He could save.


I walked day by day holding on to his hand ,
Knowing some day this life would end,
I stood on His promise not to leave me alone,
Now I walk streets of gold in my heavenly home.


I have a new mansion built by Jesus hand,
It will never crumble like those made by man,
I walk down the streets with Peter, James, and John,
Bask in the love that flows from God's throne.


There are no tears in heaven, only smiles of joy,
As we go about serving Jesus our Lord,
So do not grieve for me my friend,
Death is only the beginning it's not the end.
