Those lovely green eyes speak back to me,
Searching through them Oh how sad,
Serene they seem yet lonely for love,
One that’s gone and wish they had.

Such lonely and lovely green eyes hold,
A deeply torn look that weeps,
So unhopeful but with longings too,
Sweet love that forever keeps.

I can see in those lovely green eyes,
Yearnings to be loved again,
Gone away is a heart without care,
Only to give this love pain.

Oh how sad are those lovely green eyes,
Not ever to have love now,
A heart so broken feels a deep shame,
Those eyes tell it all and how.

Serene those lovely green eyes are not,
They’re filled with love that’s been crushed,
I wish I could help to change love’s loss,
But you see my love has hushed.
