Homeward Bound

My Jesus is watching over me,
As through this life I wend,
He is leading me along the way,
O’er straights and ‘round the bends.

Safely I can traverse the path,
Leading to heaven’s pearly gates,
Determined I travel onward,
Despite obstacles which await.

I have by my side a Companion,
A Friend that is the truest of all,
A Champion that never forsakes,
Evermore He answers when I call.

He loves me as I am today,
My heart is clean and pure,
He lifts me up when I am down,
Filling my soul with cheer.

He will continue to walk with me,
Along life’s path day after day,
“Welcome to our Father’s house my child”,
Are the words I long to hear Him say.
