~ An Hour With You~

"AN HOUR WITH YOU"

When day is done and we set to rest,
the thoughts that put our mind to test,
in search for peace, we are twice blest
to spend "AN HOUR WITH YOU".

There are those who scoff at "Verse Sublime"
and those who think it a waste of time,
they'll never know the wonders of rhyme
or to spend "AN HOUR WITH YOU".

There are those who toil most every day,
and those of us who run away,
and those of us who deign to stay-
and spend "AN HOUR WITH YOU".

In the everyday world our pitiful life
is usually measured in worry and strife,
to release the pressure in which we are rife-
let me spend "AN HOUR WITH YOU".

The life span of man is measured by GOD-
the footsteps of man are not easily trod,
they cease only when he lies 'neath the sod--
so let's spend "AN HOUR WITH YOU".

Come down from your worries and everyday throng,
allow your senses to carry you along,
fill your soul with peace and hear your heart's song-
and spend "AN HOUR WITH YOU".

FOR A "SOUL SISTER' with much admiration--Betty
