I impatiently await the hours,
Dreaming of the forthcoming day,
We will rejoice in our hearts,
A precious baby is on the way.

I feel its movements inside me,
A life growing in preparation,
Of individual life on its own,
‘Tis the time of anticipated separation.

I have caressed you with my hands,
Sang sweet lullabies of song,
Told you of the arms waiting,
The yearning to hold you is strong.

I pray each day as I carry you,
Thanking Jesus our Lord above,
For this most precious miracle,
A gift thus granted with heavenly love.
