I silently wonder as the sun descends
tiptoes 'hind the clouds
can you hear my lonely cries
within the ocean sounds?

You took along a piece of me
the day you slipped away
years have passed with aching pain
yet, feels like yesterday

I sit 'n watch the fading sun
awaiting stars to shine
knowing in my heart of hearts
your eyes look into mine

Ocean songs enwrap my soul
bring back the yesteryears
waves of sadness, linger on
are mixed with salty tears

Desperately, I hug the night
let darkness cradle me
while echoes of a seagull
carry 'cross the sea

Tiny bubbles lap my feet
ballet 'long the shore
shells gather with their secrets
reminding me once more

To build just one more castle
leave footprints in the sand
days of yore rekindled
us walking hand in hand

My empty soul keeps searching
craves peace 'n harmony
still haunted by your passing
what ifs, that couldn't be

Oceans blue, horizons
miles away from home
a lifelong dream, your passion
to rest in sea of foam

Do you swim with manatees?
explore the ocean floor?
join in songs of dolphins?
hop waves to meet the shore?

Small ripples in the water
as roses float away
a balmy breeze embraces
keeps all thoughts at bay

My chin begins to quiver
emotions set adrift
there into the blueness
I blow a loving kiss

And wonder can you hear me?
the silent tears I cry?
just listen for the echo
as heart swims with the tide
